Here at LJ Chiropractic Clinic we use a variety of techniques to tackle common musculoskeletal conditions to obtain the best results that your body needs.

What is shockwave therapy?

Shockwave Therapy is used for all tendonitis, muscular, ligament and other soft tissue injuries. It involves high pressured acoustic shockwaves that travel through the skin to stimulate pain relief, enhance blood circulation and tissue repair by breaking down scar tissue and adhesions. The shockwave machine emits short bursts which penetrates tissue and stimulates the cells that are responsible for tissue healing.

Conditions such as tennis elbow, rotator cuff tendonitis, plantar fasciitis are commonly treated for this modality.

The treatment can penetrate deep without damaging the superficial tissues. The stimulated growth of the new tissue helps to heal the old injury; relieving pain making the tendon or ligament stronger and not as easily injured as before.

Dry Needling assists with decreasing local muscular pain and improving function through the restoration of a muscle's ability to lengthen and shorten normally by releasing myofascial trigger points.

When a fine filament needle is inserted into the center of a myofascial trigger point, blood pools around the needle triggering the contracted muscle fibers to relax by providing those fibers with fresh oxygen and nutrients, as well as by flushing away any additional acidic chemicals. This, in turn, leads to the decompression of the local blood and nerve supply.

Taping & strapping can aid recovery of joint pain and injuries, and assist injury prevention. Here at LJ Chiropractic Clinic we use a combination of techniques to ensure the best outcome.
